Out of Control Simulation

This is what happens when you’re off-centre.

I’m working on a pretty epic project called Hotbox, with explosions and stereo compositing and all kinds of fun like that …

Here is another explosion dynamics test. The first 24 frames is a build-phase, when I add fuel and heat to the simulation to get it jump-started. Then the simulation runs for about a hundred seconds in fake slo-motion, then suddenly ramps up to normal speed for the final part of the shot.

A large part of what gives the explosion it’s final ‘kick’ is a ‘force field’ which pushes outwards in all directions from the centre of the blast.

Looks like I might have accidentally placed it a little bit off-centre…. 😛

pshhhhhhhhhhh-ka-ka-KAFOOOOOOOOSSSHHHHHH!!!!
