Concept of a ghostly one-eyed caribou for a project in development by director Brianne Nord-Stewart, based on a haunting short story by R. Van Camp.
The film was meant to be an atmospheric, low-key affair, but it did require one major VFX element — an enormous, ghostly, rotting caribou described in Van Camp’s story as:
“…running on dead legs. I meet its eyes but there are only antlers. In between the antlers is an eye. It too is cold and watching…”
The final concept was the culmination of months of refinement, completed amidst other concept work and promotional designs for the treatment, and a set of complete storyboards for the film.
