“Giltrude, an interdimensional shut-in, has waited fifteen years for her parents to come home. When a life-or-death dilemma comes knocking, Giltrude must learn to look beyond her front door.”
So begins Giltrude’s Dwelling, a short fantasy-scifi film that screened at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival as part of the Canada – Not Short on Talent program. In the story, Giltrude lives in a house that hops from dimension to dimension like some kind of Victorian-era TARDIS. I worked on concept art to help visualize and plan the different alien environments the house visits. The concept art ended up working so well, they were used as backgrounds during the film’s end credits.
