Production was spearheaded by Two Story Productions, and I joined the team as a visual effects artist after creating a short reel to demonstrate my interest.
Much of the work involved using real astrophotography and simple projection-mapping tricks to create fully-3d shots of all the planets in the solar system. Mars was surprisingly lacking in good, full-disk space-based images, so it had to be built completely in 3d, and textured using Viking Orbiter survey data from the ’70s. Starfields were simulated using up-to the minute orbital positioning data in Celestia.

I also created a bunch of other assets for the show, including this shot of a dying, boiling Earth.
