This thriller comedy, directed by Jem Garrard and produced by Blue Ice Pictures for Tubi, is about employees on the night shift in a remote diner who suspect their customer is a serial killer.
The movie is available to watch for free on Tubi, and stars N’kone Mametja, Daniel Janks, and Gia Capouya.
I designed the on-screen graphics for this feature, including the title card, end credits, and special subtitles for a character who uses sign language.

Title Design
The opening titles consisted of a single, minute-long take, during which the title text appears under the awning of the diner. The length of the shot and nighttime shooting conditions made tracking the footage particularly challenging. Foreground objects were rotoscoped to integrate the text into the environment, and reflections were added to the wet pavement.
End Credits
Similarly, the end credits play over a 2 minute-long crane shot. Foreground actors and objects were rotoscoped to integrate the text and motivate transitions between cards.
One of my favourite details is pretty easy to miss: as the text passes behind the restaurant’s giant signboard, it blurs behind the frosted glass of the neon arrow.
Subtitles
One of the characters, Milly (played by Gia Capouya), speaks only in ASL. I designed burned-in subtitles for her lines that were dynamic and expressive, while keeping the focus on the actor’s performance.
