The Provider
Digital Makeup

The Provider had already taken the Grand Prize at the 2010 Bloodshorts 48-hour Film Competition when director Brianne Nord-Stewart decided to add some finishing touches before it got a wider release. In particular, she asked me to manipulate shots of a stuffed-and-mounted female character.

Most of the work on the various shots was performed in Nuke. The actress was frozen in place and given a pale, waxy complexion. Her eyes were replaced with clouded, glassy cataracts. Unwanted background objects were removed and digital touchups were meticulously integrated with grainy footage and wandering focal lengths.
